ILLEGAL ITEMS ONBOARD

In accordance to the set rules of aviation safety and security, these particular items cannot be carried onto an aircraft and the secured areas of an airport:

  • Firearms, and other equipment with firing capability. Items and or equipment that can be used to harm individuals such as:
    • Firearms in all forms; pistols, revolvers, machine guns, shot guns, bazookas
    • Toy firearms, replicas, or imitations that can be mistaken for real weapons
    • Firearm parts, with an exception to telescope sights
    • Flares or flare guns
    • Bow and Arrow, crossbows, spears
    • Devices used to fire harpoons or spears
    • Sling-shot and catapults
  • Devices used to daze – device used specifically to daze or immobilize
    • Device used to transfix, for example Taser-guns, Taser equipment
    • Immobilizing chemical substances, gasses such as pepper sprays
  • Objects with sharp endings or edges – objects with sharp edges used specifically to harm individuals, such as:
    • Tools such as axes or cleavers
    • Tools used to break ice
    • Blades using in shaving devices
    • Blades with a length greater than 6 cm
    • Scissors with a length greater than 6 cm, measured from the beginning of the blade
    • Tools with sharp edges used for martial arts
    • Swords, Sabers, Epee
  • Work Equipment – hazardous tools used specifically to harm or cause severe damage to the aircraft, such as:
    • Metal crowbars
    • Drills, drill bits, including wireless drills
    • Blade-like item with a length greater than 6cm used as a weapon, for example a screw driver
    • Saws, including wireless electric saws
    • Soldering iron
    • Nail guns
  • Blunt instrument – an object that can damage or cause harm when direct force is applied, such as:
    • Baseball and softball bats
    • Rubber batons, metal batons, and Police batons
    • Equipment used for martial arts
  • Explosives or fire hazardous material – hazardous materials or substances that can cause severe damage to the aircraft, such as:
    • Ammunition
    • Detonators and circuit breakers
    • Replicas or imitations of explosives
    • Mines, grenades, and other military explosive devices
    • Fireworks and other pyrotechnical equipment
    • Dynamite, gun powder, and plastic explosives
