Mrągowo (EPMG)

The airfield in Mragowo has been booming in pilot’s interest and population, not only form Poland, but Germany as well. This is not a surprise because this particular airfield is considered to be one of the best-situated landing spots in the area. Because of its unique geographical position, surrounded by lakes, meadows, and forests, it is a wonderful spot to discover the true beauty that the southern part of the Mazury great lakes has to offer.

 

The land surrounding Mragowo is one of the most beautiful and most interesting tourist regions in Poland. A number of historical landmarks, sanctuaries, wild animal parks, and festivals draw in families from all over Poland.

 

Mrągowo surroundings

Mragowo is an adorable town situated right next to the Czos lake. Previously known as Sensburg (Zadzbork), the town’s current name was given by Krzystof Mragowiusz – writer and researcher of the Mazury dialect. Mragowo is known for its yearly Country picnic as well as the festival of culture. In the nearby Sorkwity, an English neo-gothic style palace is located. This also is the location where the trail for the most beautiful river in Poland, Krutyn, starts. In Kosewo, located next to the main road leading to Mikolajki, you can observe herds of deer, fallow dear,  roe-deer and moose.
