R-44 type rating course
In order to be enrolled for the type-rating course, an applicant must:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Have a written letter of consent and approval from parents or a legal guardian
- Have completed a minimum of 2 years of middle school
- Have a 1st or 2nd class medical certificate
- Possess a helicopter private pilot’s license PPL(H)
- Have completed the theoretical portion of the course
- Have at least 6 hours of pilot-in-command time if in possession of a PPL(H) and 5 hours of pilot-in-command time if in possession of a CPL(H)
- Have a radio operator license
The course encompasses flight training that enables the pilot to operate the R-44 helicopter during the day. Because English is the official language of aviation, there is a possibility to use English phraseology during the course. The flight training encompasses 1 hours of flying in the R-44. The last step in the course is a theoretical examination followed by a practical exam that can be done by an IBEX-U.L examiner.
